Dining With Canadian Railways Volume 1 - Canadian Pacific Chinaware
by Will Smith
The goal of Dining With Canadian Railways Volume 1 – Canadian Pacific Chinaware is to document all known china patterns used in dining service by the company's five major divisions of operation: Railways, Steamships, Hotels, Restaurants, and Airline. Also included are two CPR-affiliated railways that had their own unique chinaware patterns, specifically the Dominion Atlantic and Quebec Central railways.
This brand new book published in 2018 documents more than 250 chinaware patterns - used not just on Canadian Pacific's dining cars, but also on the company's steamships, hotels, airline, and restaurants. It is the culmination of 30 years research and provides a detailed reference of CPR chinaware production and use - and will be of value to researchers, chinaware collectors, and railway historians.
Dining With Canadian Railways Volume 1 – Canadian Pacific Chinaware was published by Will Smith and Ralph Beaumont in late 2018. The book is hardbound, 8.5" x 11" format, has 248 pages full colour and contains more than 500 photos.
The book is available from the author for $35 CDN plus shipping. If you are interested in purchasing a copy, please contact us at
